Dan and Kristin Karabacz moved back to Michigan from Colorado to raise a family, and start a business.
First came the family (enter Jacqueline & baby Brooklynn), and then came the opportunity to re-envision a Traverse City favorite: Alley's Market.
Known for its excellent Detroit Style Pizza, the Alley's location was the perfect spot for Dan to revive this classic style and expand the menu with specialty sandwiches and fresh seasonal salads, made with quality products from local vendors.
Enter: Charles and Reid.
As restrictions lift and the pandemic slows to an end (hopefully),
we've updated our menu! New pizzas, salads and sandwiches have been added to the line up, so we can expand the options — and you can expand your taste buds!
Due to the workforce shortage, and to support the health and wellness of our employees, we are running limited pies a day (around 70).
The entire menu is available for order over the phone or in person, for curbside or counter pick-up.

Pick Up Rules
1. WE ARE A FAMILY
A few guys and a couple of gals are running this business.
We ask for your patience when ordering and picking up.
2. A SHORT WAIT
It takes us about 22 minutes to bake your pizza. That means there may be a wait.
Estimated pick up times will be given when you order.
3. COUNTER ORDERING/PICK UP
For counter ordering or pick-up please enter through main alley door
and exit through back into the parking lot.
4. CURBSIDE ORDERING/PICK UP
Please call 231-252-3497 to place your order, and again when you arrive.
City Parking is available while you wait, and we'll run your order out to you when it is ready.

Our Style
Detroit Style Pizza. Some say it's a myth. Charles and Reid kindly disagrees.
Traditionally baked in pans, this iconic style is most known for its square shape and thick layer of rich sauce on top.
Whether it's simply cheese, heavy on the meat or veggies only, Charles and Reid will be tossing a Detroit tradition right in Downtown Traverse City.
